Fulton Family Law Information Clinic - Monthly Clinic (TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED)
Organization: Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc.
THIS IN-PERSON PROJECT IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19.
FLIC holds a monthly group clinic where people can walk in to get assistance without an appointment. Law students, attorneys, and experienced paralegals are welcome to volunteer. Group clinics are on the last Friday of every month from 9:00-12:00 in courtroom 8H of the Fulton County courthouse (December is TBD due to the holidays). Volunteers are needed to handle conflicts and other clients who are ineligible for our services. No specific experience is required, as there will be several ALAS attorneys present to help.
The Family Law Information Center (FLIC) was developed to assist people who wish to represent themselves in domestic legal matters or educate themselves about domestic issues. Anyone may come to FLIC to obtain legal forms or information on a variety of issues, including: paternity establishment, legitimation, custody, visitation, child support, annulment and divorce.
Clients may obtain pro se forms on a variety of family law topics from the FLIC website for free. Printed versions of the packets are available at the FLIC office for $2 (cash only).
There are a computer and printer in the attorney’s office along with copies of McConaughey’s, Title 19 and other family law books. Additional forms not included in the regular FLIC packets are in a file on top of the bookcase (including things like petition for custody declaration or termination of IDO).
